Shivaji University is state university of Maharashtra government and it is located in Kolhapur district.This university was established in 1962.This university is accredited with Grade A by the NAAC. There are 276 colleges affiliated by Shivaji university and these all colleges are spread over three districts of Maharashtra, namely, Kolhapur, Sangli, and Satara. More than three lakhs student enrolled in shivaji University. Shivaji University has 34 postgraduate departments, including 10 major faculties of Arts, Social Science, Commerce, Education, Fine Arts, Law, Medicine, Ayurveda Medicine, and Engineering and Technology. Shivaji University also offers UGC-approved distance-education courses.

Shivaji University provides 126 undergraduate(UG), postgraduate (PG), diploma, and doctoral (PHD) courses through various departments of the Science, Arts, Technology, Management, and Commerce. University takes Admission to its various courses by enterance test. For professional courses Shivaji University also accepts the scores of national, state, and university-level entrance exams for technical courses like BTech, MCA, and MBA. The university Condcuts its own test for non-professional courses, like BA, BSc, MSW, MA, etc.

To get admission in Shivaji University candidates have to qualify national-level entrance exams like JEE Main, GATE, UGC NET, GPAT, etc to its various courses. As we know that these exams are for professional courses. The University also accepts the DTE CET scores that is also known as MHT CET, for admission to technical courses like BTech.
